The New Plymouth Fishing and Underwater Club

Welcome to the 2021 NZSFC AGM, this year hosted at the New Plymouth Sportfishing and Underwater Club (NPSUC) located in Port Taranaki.
The Cape Egmont Boat Club is hosting the Friday night Dinner at their
Clubrooms, which will be a great night.
Of course the AGM was scheduled to be hosted at Maraetai, but with the recent
Covid outbreak in August being centered in Auckland, and associated Lockdowns, the event could not go ahead as planned. Maraetai were not able to slide
the dates to a later week either, so that meant a need for Plan B.
So here we are, at somewhat short notice we have planned the AGM to be memorable and fun. We want all Delegates and Guests to have a great time.
This is not the first time that NPSUC has hosted the AGM at short notice, the last
time was following the Canterbury Earthquakes approximately 10 years ago.
This information booklet has been prepared to assist you finding your way around
the AGM and also New Plymouth generally. If there is anything we can do please
let us know.
As some background, our Clubrooms are located next to the recreational boat
ramp and carpark in Port Taranaki. The Clubrooms were built in the late ’70s between the Taranaki Cruising Club and New Plymouth Underwater Club (who had
origins from the 1950s). The Clubrooms have since been extended and the two
original clubs amalgamated in 1995 to form the Club as it is known today.
The Cape Egmont Boat Club has Clubrooms on Bayly Road, Warea. The Club is
amongst a rural community and has origins from 1961 and is unique due to its location, membership and own private boat ramp.
We trust that you will have a great few days with us, and hope that the AGM is a great success.
Regards
Ian Steele
NPSUC President
