One of the smaller Clubs in New Zealand, PBGFC has performed with distinction in the Nationals over the years with a number of line and class records. The Club provides an open environment for like minded fishermen to congregate and tell tall tales. PBGFC is committed to providing information, education and opportunities for anglers.

PBGFC is affiliated to the IGFA and New Zealand Sport Fishing Council, (formerly named the NZ Big Game Fishing Council).

Club nights

The Club hosts its member meetings on the 1st Monday of each month, 7.30pm at Speights Ale House Ferrymead. These meetings consist of general fishing business, forward fishing trip planning as well as educational updates and guest speakers.

This is a good way to meet and mix with other members.

Membership is by invitation. If you are considering membership in the Club, contact us. We will advise the next meeting date, invite you, and then, if you wish to continue the membership application, you will be given a membership form. Fill it out and send it in and we will advise you of the outcome. We are an active Club and bound by our Charter regarding membership size and required activity.

Information updates

The Club primarily operates with email updates on an ongoing basis on a variety of subjects in lieu of a monthly newsletter. This promotes individual interest relating to activities proposed in the future as well as some well thought observations and comment on recent past events.

Safety

The club actively promotes Water Safety and general boat preparation for fishing events. The Club was proactive in securing EPIRBS for club members with boats and this area of improvement is an ongoing exercise.
