Nathan Guy, the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), announced a review of the quota management system in a speech to the Seafood New Zealand 2015 conference. Officials are now “scoping options for an operational review. The long term aim is to deliver greater net value to all sectors – commercial, recreational and customary, while enhancing the sustainability of our fisheries”.
