Submission supports the Minister reducing the Total Allowable Catch (TAC) and Total Allowable Commercial Catch (TACC) for Blue cod 5, Southland and Fiordland. The Minister must also remove damaging bottom contact fishing methods such as trawling and dredging from sensitive habitats. The Minister also needs to review the National Blue Cod Strategy placing unwarranted new restrictions on people returning fro fishing outside the 12 nm limit. Ngai Tai ki Tamaki Trust and marine farmer Peter Bull have applied for resource consent from Auckland Council to establish a mussel farm off Ponui Island, Waitemata Harbour.
